2019 - Challenge Roth

Fullish race report in the Ironman page, but a few details here. Loved the whole experience - I look back on our time in Pleinfeld, Hipolstein and Roth with happiness and accomplishment. It's a circus, but a great circus! I left a fair bit of time on the course - I was 'that guy' without a wetsuit in a wetsuit swim and although I 'smashed' the bike, a dead Garmin prevented a disciplined sub-5 hour run. As I said, I left a PB on the course and I'll go back one day to get that time back.

2018 - Ironman Gurye

Back to Gurye, this time with a little more fitness and a lot more savvy. Absolutely chuffed with that swim, hung on to the bike pace and although I was close to blowing up on the run, I hung on for sub-5 hours. Delighted with the time - a good 40 minutes better than the year before. Full report in the Ironman pages.

2017 - Ironman Gurye

Full race report in the Ironman page, but after 6 odd years of half-IMs, I finally pulled the trigger on the full-IM. It's a lot of training but ultimately worthwhile and having the family there at the finish capped off a long, tough but ultimately rewarding day.
