Running the World with Strava
With the advent of Strava it's great to look back on a catalogue of great runs.
My profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/5646515
Hanoi, Vietnam
My first visit to Hanoi, and my longest run to date! A flat marathon, but some challenging logistics during the run.
Hong Kong, China Coast Marathon
I've run the HK Marathon several times, but the China Coast Marathon is far more fun - do it if you get the chance.
Hainan Island, China
I really enjoyed this run, nothing much to see, but I remember feeling good and just kept going.
Munich, Germany
One of those runs that starts out short but ends up a fair bit longer.
Singapore
An early start but always hot and steamy whenever you run in Singapore.
Yosemite, California, USA
A walk with the family to the very big trees.
Sutton Coldfield, UK
I love running in my home town and especially in Sutton Park. This would be a daily run if I ever moved back.
Santa Monica, Los Angeles, USA
This run went north of the pier, but a lovely coastal run close to Venice Beach.
Boston, USA
Very nice run up and down the Charles River, crossing over close to Harvard.
Yangon, Myanmar
I loved Myanmar and this was a great run around the Zoo and Kandawgi Park.
Macau SAR, China
One of my favourite corners of Asia and despite many, many runs in Macau, this is my only Strava run there.
Venice, Italy
No run here, but a long, hot walk with the family.
Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon
I'm not one to queue up to see the sights, so try to sneak in during early morning runs.
Prague, Czech Republic
I remember this as a pretty cold run, and I paused at 'Parachutists Church' - the refuge of some WWII heroes.
Anglesey, Wales
Always a good run in Anglesey, this one alone but often with my brother.
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
Pretty cold morning run, hard to get going when running in 'blocked' roads, but nice to see the City.
Williams, Arizona, USA
Easily my favourite little American town. Delightful run.
San Francisco, USA
This marathon is featured in the race blog - my best run ever.
Santa Barbara, California, USA
I enjoyed a pair of runs along the coast on the last days of our California trip.
Colombo, Sri Lanka
Hot and sticky 70.3 run, but a lovely city with great support.
New York, USA
Bit of a messy GPS track but past Times Square and into Central Park for the first time.
Pleinfeld, Germany
Short pre-race run in a lovely part of the world.
Barcelona, Spain
Nice post-race run in a delightful city.
Death Valley, California, USA
Just a stroll onto Badwater Basin, but mind blowingly hot.
Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA
A breathtaking walk along the Rim Trail.
Roth, Germany
Tough IM run, but great support through this picturesque part of Bavaria.
Gurye, South Korea
A shuffle of an IM run, but with great support, it was great to be part of it.
Washington DC, USA
A lovely run through the Memorials with barely a soul in sight. The best way to see them.
Maine, USA
Delightful run albeit longer than planned after a wrong turn on the way home.
Moulmein, Myanmar
Possibly one of my favourite runs of all time - in and around a town where Kipling briefly visited and Orwell was stationed.
Rome, Italy
Whenever possible in major cities, I'll try to get an early morning run in to get my bearings for the day ahead.
Hong Kong - Aquathon Race
Nasty run after an even nastier swim. Chung Hom Kok to Quarry Bay via The Twins & Violet Hill.
Cebu, Philippines
Hot and horrible run at Ironman 70.3 Cebu.
Brussels, Belgium
Just a long walk during our stopover from Amsterdam to Paris.
Phuket, Thailand
I've run many times in Phuket, but most were pre-Strava. This one was a decent 70.3 run.
Hong Kong - first Strava run
Nothing to write home about, good to get on the board.
Los Angeles, downtown, USA
An very different early morning view of LA. Not always pleasant to look at.
Beatty, Nevada, USA
A lovely run in a little town just outside Death Valley.
San Luis Obispo, California, USA
Unlikely to return to this lovely part of California, so good to get it on the running map.
Muscat, Oman
One of the most scenic runs I've done in a very special place for us.
